Only adult ADHD assessments and medication titration are available under Right to Choose at Atrom Mindcare. Everything else we offer is private only.

Under NHS Right to Choose, your GP has to make the referral. Book an appointment with your GP to talk through your concerns. Before you go, complete the ASRS self-screening questionnaire and take a copy with you.If your GP agrees a referral is clinically appropriate, they can refer you in one of two ways:Complete our referral form on the Atrom Mindcare websiteSend a completed referral form to RTC@atrommindcare.comNot every GP knows the Right to Choose pathway well. NHS rules mean we have to keep our private and Right to Choose pathways separate. If you want to be treated under Right to Choose, see your GP and follow the referral process above.

No. We can only accept referrals that come from your GP.

We accept referrals for adult ADHD assessment only. We can't accept referrals for:Medication or treatment if you've already been assessed and diagnosed with ADHD by a private provider. You'll need to go back to your GP and be referred into the Right to Choose pathway, and you're likely to need a re-assessment.Anyone who poses a risk to themselves or others.Anyone with severe co-existing mental health conditions, chronic or acute conditions, or a significant learning disability that would prevent a valid assessment.

Face to face at our clinic in Epping, or online by video, if that's clinically suitable for you.

No. If you've been assessed by an NHS provider, you'll need to get treatment from that same provider. We can't take on patients for treatment only if another NHS provider assessed them.

Yes, if your GP refers you. But we'll need to carry out a full new assessment for it to be NHS-funded, we can't move you straight to treatment on the strength of a private assessment. Bear in mind the outcome of our assessment may differ from your private one.

No. If you've already had an NHS or Right to Choose ADHD assessment, we can't take a new referral. Contact your original provider or local NHS service if you need reassessment.

We currently have no waiting list for appointments for eligible ICBs, with shorter waits for patients from Essex ICB. Check our website for the latest.

No. Everyone needs to complete an online ADHD screening questionnaire first. Only if you meet the criteria for assessment following that screening should your GP refer you to us. If referred, you'll be offered an assessment provided you also meet the eligibility criteria listed in Section 1.

Your Consultant Psychiatrist reviews them during your assessment appointment. If you don't submit completed questionnaires within 48 hours of booking, we may offer your slot to someone else.

Screening. Complete the ASRS questionnaire and take it to your GP.GP referral. Your GP submits our referral form, online or by email.Review. Our clinical team reviews your questionnaire results and risk factors.Waiting list. If suitable, you're added to the waiting list.Appointment confirmation. Once a slot is available, we'll send you a provisional appointment with links to any forms you need to complete. Submit these within 48 hours or the appointment may be released.Assessment appointment. You'll meet a specialist face to face or by video.Report. You and your GP receive a detailed report with the outcome and recommendations.Post-assessment tests. In some cases, your Consultant Psychiatrist will ask for tests before you can start medication. These are done through the NHS; send us the results so we can review them and move to medication if appropriate.Medication, if appropriate. If you're diagnosed, you'll discuss treatment options with your Consultant Psychiatrist.

Within around 2 weeks, you'll get a full report with a treatment plan. We send this to you and your GP.

Yes. But if we diagnosed you privately, you'll need your GP to refer you again through Right to Choose before you can access medication on the NHS.

As a newer service, there's currently no wait once we have your GP referral and all the necessary documentation. This may change as demand grows.

An initial consultation with a Consultant PsychiatristA review of your medical history, blood pressure, weight and other health checksA discussion of the risks and benefits of treatmentA treatment plan and, if appropriate, your first prescriptionYou'll have regular follow-ups until your medication is stable. At that point, we'll ask your GP to take on a shared care agreement, so they can continue prescribing and monitoring. If your GP can't take this on, we'll refer you to a GP Federation that can.
