Adult ADHD assessment, funded by the NHS
Right to Choose is your legal right, under the NHS Choice Framework, to choose your provider. If you are registered with a GP in England, your GP can refer you to Atrom Mindcare, a CQC-regulated provider, for an adult ADHD assessment, free of charge, and led by a Consultant Psychiatrist every time.
SERVICE NOTICE
Atrom Mindcare currently has no waiting time for your assessment in eligible ICBs. You can see ICB waiting times here. Medication titration carries a mandatory 10-week wait under the NHS contract.

Due to high demand, we can currently only accept referrals from GPs who take part in shared care. This does not apply to Essex ICB, covered by our GP federation agreement.

Assessment Letter Processing Update: We are currently experiencing a higher than usual volume of assessment letters, which has resulted in a temporary backlog. Our team is working diligently to process all outstanding assessments as quickly as possible while maintaining the quality and accuracy of our reviews. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period.

YOUR ADHD ASSESSMENT
What actually happens on the day
One appointment with one of our Consultant Psychiatrists - a structured conversation about your life, not a test you can fail. Here's what to expect, so nothing about it is a surprise.
How long it takes
One appointment with a Consultant Psychiatrist, online or at our Epping clinic. Allow a couple of hours from arrival.
What we talk about

What to bring
Your completed screening results, a list of any medication you take, and anything useful from your past - previous letters, etc.
Bring someone who knows you
Optional but helpful. A parent, partner or close friend can add what your childhood and daily life look like from the outside.
Before medication starts
If ADHD is diagnosed, we check your physical health - blood pressure, pulse, weight and heart history - before any prescribing.
Afterwards
A detailed diagnostic report and care plan for you and your GP within 4-6 weeks, with recommendations either way.
